CONTEXT:
This is my favorite au ive made so far and its really fun to play with and what not. anyways, heres an explanation on whats going on. so back when squirrel and ash started dating or whatever you want to call it, squirrel still liked bramble but ALSO really liked ash. one day squirrel goes to ash, asking his opinion on bramble (ash is bi in this au), he tells her hes a good looking cat and he respects him. squirrel asked ash if he would be okay with them ever becoming mates with bramble. ash asks "Both of use?!" in a very shocked way. after talking about it a little more they both decide to confront bramble about it, getting his opinion. squirrel told him what her and ash were talking about and he seemed to like the idea of getting back with squirrel but not ash. to skip a little they all kinda start dating, and slowly over time bramble comes to find he loves ash and squirrel the same (so all three of them love each other equally.) The clan finds their relationship strange but all accept them nonetheless. when squirrel and leaf are out in the forest having leaf's kits ash finds them, and watches from a bush, leaving after a few moments. (so like ash knows that they aren't squirrels kits. Squirrel and leafs return to camp with the kits and ash says nothing about it, knowing how happy bramble was and everyone else. ash still loved the kits even knowing they aren't squirrels, and even cares for them when squirrel is away doing something. much later during the fire ash squirrel and the three are trying to escape, and ash cracks. He says he wont let squirrel and the kits through unless squirrel tells the kits and bramble about where they really came from. squirrel is shocked ash knows the truth, blah blah. ash, after getting squirrel to tell the kits, runs off in shame and sadness. Holly then follows him to the lake, discussed for almost killing all of them and clouded with anger from the secret of their origin, she kills ash by the river. squirrel and bramble find him and they both take it very hard. At the gathering holly tells everyone the news, you all know this part its pretty much the same. bramble runs offs blaming squirrel for ashes death saying "He wouldnt have died if you just told us!" oor something like that.
