The Treasure Potion
aka Dragon Bait

Effects

The Treasure potion gives horses a gem-like coloring. Once foals shead their foal coat, the treasure potion goes into effect turning the fur into thin crystal-like fibers. These fibers give the horse a shiny metalic look and make them not so soft to the touch. Yikes! Don't pet them the wrong way or you'll get your hand sliced open.

- Can replicate the looks of any gem or gem-like stone along with substances such as gold, silver, copper, bronze, etc
- Always looks like the polished form of a gem
- Always covers the entire body
- Doesn't affect hooves or eye color
-The mane and tail will change to the color of the gem, but will remain as natural horse hair
- As the horse ages their coat dulls
- Can be ridden, their fibers are flexible and strong enough to support a person without breaking
- Goes above Grey on the dominace list

-History and Creation-

Years ago, when dragons were a threat to the Alerian peoples, brave riders and their steeds would find and kill the dreaded beasts. The job of dragon hunter was a risky business and many had succomed to a fiery death. Looking to make dragon hunting a less deadly endevor, a group of mages created a potion that gave a horse the effects of gems. The horses became colorful and shiny all things that attracted dragons.

The "bait"horses as they were called would be released into an area where dragons were suspected to be. The hunters would wait to ambush the distracted dragon which may or may not have started attacking the horse upon learning it in fact wasn't a shiny gem.

After a large public outcry, officials banned the use of horses to bait dragons and the potion was shelved. Covered in dust and debris, the potion was re-discoved years latter by scientists looking to clean out the old storage rooms.

Modern Use

This potion has remained in realatiy obscurity only being used by a select few as... it still attracts dragons like moths to light.
