Even though his age has reduced his ADAPT Threat Level to 5.2 out of 10 (down from 7.2 in his physical heyday), his ruthless cunning, honed insight and domineering presence (Thanks in part to Aural Application mastery in Sensory Map and Domination) has allowed him to survive longer than the average senior villain, building upon his empire a cult of personality and younger loyal rogues who look up to him as a father figure. Cataract Jack knows what buttons to press in a person to garner hatred or adoration. Thanks to an Application mastery in Stealth, even in his old age on cloven hooves he can sneak up on you and take your sight (and possibly your life) before you realize he is there. Cataract Jack likes to work in dense cities, surrounded by innocent lives that can be used as collateral in a sticky situation.

Cataract Jack's Astral Drift is "Void's Decree". Jack can inflict blindness upon anyone that he sees and points at. This blindness is instantaneous and can become permanent. The limitations, restrictions and rules of this ability beyond this are secrets that Jack has kept to himself to this day. The nature of his ability has made him one of the most terrifying villains to encounter for many a would-be hero. Victims of Cataract Jack have found themselves blinded out of nowhere while walking the streets of their neighborhood or in crowds, giving rise to an unverified rumor that Jack may only need a person's photograph or video image to send blindness infliction across the world. These rumors are again unverified. Nonetheless, the fear of going blind even if you succeeded in capturing or killing Jack has been a potent deterrent for all but the specialized or the bravest of heroes to ever interfere with his operations.
