I've spent my life in shadow
slowly sinking in.
The walls press ever closer
will it ever end?
This darkness comes from anger
from sadness, worry, fear.
I shall never truly know
when my darkness' end is near.
Your love shines through into my heart
tearing at the wall.
Your light will try to show me truth
that I should not fear at all.
But what if none of it is true
a joke, a trick, a lie?
That fear eats away at me
my prison shall never die.
Every brick of those thick walls
your love tries to chip and break.
But for every brick that’s broken
another brick my fear makes.
Can I ever truly trust it
the light that's there to see?
Can I stop the unfounded worry
and believe the truth in front of me?
One day soon my wall will fall and break
darkness will fade the light break through.
I will then release my fear
and give all my heart and love to you.
