*note I’m starting fresh with the prologue of my novel and the first chapter*

This is Jackal and King Shade. Jackal was kidnapped from her homeland along with several other dragons species. (This takes place during Jackal’s era of Ancient Times just at the beginning of Pharaoh’s fall and the rise of Wind drakes.)

Shade is thirsty for power, as much as he can get his talons on. And what seems better than to build an kingdom with all species to bow before him? Hence his growing kingdom and competition against the wind drakes. Jackal fell into Shade’s authority, and was imprisoned for the first few days. Once Shade grew trust among the new and “gathered” dragons, he allowed them to be set free into his kingdom and learn the ways of their new environment and home. Under one condition: to forget all about their past lives and live for Shade. As you can see Shade is very prideful. Though Jackal had her ways of slowly befriending Shade, and “serves” beside him, she also works on diminishing Shade’s own pride, for it can get the best of him…

I won’t give out much spoilers, but let’s just say it’s inspired by the story of David
