Assignment #2 - Two Landscapes

Materials: Conte Crayon or compressed charcoal

Paper: Charcoal paper

Size: 14 x 17

The second drawing is to be composed from two distinctly different landscape images that you extract from photos or magazine pictures. You will combine these two images together into one seamless drawing. You can edit out any information from either image to enhance the visual effect of the final product. Again, make it personal. If you have photographs of your backyard or somewhere else you have spent a lot of time, it would be interesting to combine that landscape with a place that you’ve never been, or always wished to see. This is the kind of research that you will need to be able to do going forward in this class.

The two images were: a photo of Elizabeth Park located in Hartford and a photo of the Aqua Turf located in Plantsville.
