Description Part 3
Vlad caught Ashlen just in time. He landed outside the window rapped on the pane. The witch looked up from packing her bags. She came over and opened the window tiredly. "Vat are you doing?" The vampire looked around. "Vhy did you leave without saying something?"
Ashlen sighed. "That stupid little servant of yours. I couldn't take another minute. Besides," she stopped the count, who was gritting his teeth. The 17-year-old certainly had a right to hang Igor from the chandelier. "I need to get moving anyway. My parents called me several times, and because I was at the castle I missed it. They were worried."
"Oh," Vlad had almost forgotten that humans, more often than not, at family that cared about them. "Yes, I understand." He had enjoyed her company over the last few days, really.
The witch noticed how unhappy he sounded. "I might come visit sometime, though." She paused. "Even if it means dealing with that jerk of a hunchback."
The vampire chuckled and cracked his knuckles. "I vill straighten him out. It's very funny what you did to him, by the vay."
Ashlen smiled, laughing.  "He deserved it."
"Yes he did. It isn't any of his business to judge who your parents are." Vlad sat on the bed while she packed. "You could stay longer if you like."
"No, no, that's okay." She nodded, folding the last shirt into her bag and zipping it closed. She had at least three suitcases with her. "I need to be on my way."
"Vhere are you going anyvay?" He examined the large bags. She might as well have been moving. "I mean you're not in any hurry."
"I don't really have any specific place I'm going." Ashlen shrugged. The witch didn't really have any solid plans, she was just traveling. "I'm kind of touring." She chuckled. "Looking for a place to settle down, maybe."
Vlad perked up. Maybe she could stay with him? It was high time he found a companion, after all, and he liked Ashlen. He was also scared of frightening her away from him. If she did decide to stay with him it would mean turning her.
"Vhy don't you live here?" He motioned to the castle carefully. She looked out the window, surprised. They had only known each other for a few days.
"Vlad, I don't think I could…I mean Igor and your other friends…" the witch trailed off. What was he implying?
The vampire could see that she was catching on and still hoped she wouldn't be frightened or angry. "They vouldn't be mad. I mean, you could join us at the card games if you vanted." He rubbed the back of his neck, uncomfortable.
Ashlen paused, watching him for a few moments. Did the vampire want to bite her again? It was a big decision if he did. What would her parents think if she let him turn her? They didn't have a problem with human friendly vampires and she didn't mind becoming one to terribly if it came to that, but Vlad killed most of his meals.
Neither could rely on a spur- of- the- moment decision now. "Do you… really want to?" She knew that sometimes a vampire would jump into the decision and regret it later. The creatures held a great amount of responsibility and power in their position.
"Only if you vant to." He said. She was taking it well, and he remembered her family knew about vampires. The girl also had to weigh options. It was a life or death decision.
"I'm not sure. It's a big choice." She admitted, sitting down beside him. Her heartbeat thundered in his ears. What would it be like if silenced? "Maybe I should talk to my parents about it."
"Very vell." He nodded. Hopefully she would decide to stay with him. If not, he would live. The vampire would be lonely, but he would live. "Tell them I said hello, vill you?"
Ashlen took out her cell phone and smiled at him. She chuckled and kind of waved him out the window. "Will do."
