Description Part 5
Vlad looked around Ashlen's room as she slept. He didn't mean to be a snoop but was too curious to help himself. Like most human teenagers she had lots of knick-knacks lying around. She had moved in quickly and efficiently thanks to her powers.
He was more interested in the halfling's other things mostly. He spent almost an hour looking through the monster fact book and read the entry on vampires out of simple curiosity. It didn't say anything or state any opinions that he hadn't heard before and he closed it. The vampire also took interest in a little bean-bag cat Ashlen had sitting on the desk. It smelled of her and, just faintly, another vampire.
The count wanted to know more about the Hopper's family friend and would ask about it later. Right now streaks of sunlight were invading the dark and he needed to get to bed. Yawning, the vampire went down to his coffin for the day.

Vlad could hardly fall asleep from anticipation. He was afraid that Ashlen would not be able to handle the pain when he turned her. He also wondered if she even knew how much pain was involved.
He had been surprised when turned and wanted to consult her on what it was like. The vampire planned to carefully explain it all, even if she already knew.
He also knew, or rather figured, that her parents disapproved of him. She had seemed a little worried when talking to them, just by her facial expressions. He guessed she had told them that he killed most of his meals…and they didn't like that idea. He understood- vampires were frowned upon for killing their prey.
******************************
Around four in the afternoon Ashlen woke up. After checking her laptop she considered getting ready. The young witch was surprised at how late she had slept but shrugged it off. She would have to get used to sleeping during the day anyway. Because it was summer the sun wouldn't set until later. She rubbed some of the sleep that had built up in her blue eyes. Maybe I could get in just a bit more sleep. She thought lazily and with a smile.
The girl was still lying in bed and decided just to go back to sleep the way she was. Ashlen never noticed Igor watching from the hall. After a moment of tossing about the girl found her comfort spot and drifted into a light sleep.
Tip-toeing into the witch's room so as not to wake her, Igor opened one of her drawers. With a sly smile the hunchback found what he wanted- several pairs of the girl's underwear. While he had no interest in Ashlen whatsoever making it seem like the Count wanted her THAT way would drive her away. A backside to this sweet little plan, though, was if the two DID decide that they liked each other THAT way. That was guaranteed to be more annoying than ever.
He started to unpack her bras and, for good measure, took a couple of the skimpiest panties he could find. Satisfied, the hunchback went to shut the drawer. He was going to decorate Vlad's coffin with his catch. The drawer stuck on the rusty track. He jiggled the handle angrily, again trying to shut it quietly. Finally he gave in and smacked the cabinet in anger. It slammed shut and he winced.
Ashlen snapped awake instantly at the sound. Sitting up groggily, she spotted Igor. He froze like a deer caught in headlights. Most of the contents of her underwear drawer were in his arms. "What are you doing?" She demanded, growling.
He went pale. "Nothing! The Count, uh, asked me to bring these to him!"
"Sure he did." She got out of bed, going to teach that stupid little hunchback a lesson.

Vlad didn't even acknowledge Igor when he found him, hung by his pants on a hook in the dungeon. He figured it would become a rather common sight until the little man learned to behave. "Help me master!" He kicked the wall.
"Nope." The count chuckled. Mounting the stairs, he went to say good evening to Ashlen. The witch was making her bed. "Vat did Igor do this time?" He knew his servant was chained up for a reason.
"Caught him raiding my underwear drawer." The girl's mood had improved again and she snickered. "And I think he was moving stuff around on my shelf." The vampire realized he had left the book and the bean bag cat out of place.
"Oh, I'm the one who moved your things." He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. It was odd; he didn't think Igor had any interest in human girls.
"That's fine." Ashlen put her fact book back on the shelf. She smiled at him and replaced the beanbag cat on her desk. "Listen, Vlad," She sat down on the bed.
"Vat is it?" He sat beside her, looking just a little worried.
"I want to wait a little while before you turn me. Maybe until I'm nineteen." She nodded, considering the decision.
The count wasn't really surprised that she wanted time to prepare, it just worried him that she would change her mind and leave. "That's perfectly fine." He took her hand in his own cold one.
Ashlen tugged away and smiled, blushing. If Vlad had been alive he would have reddened as well, but looked away instead. His eyes found the toy cat again and he picked it up, stroking it playfully.
She saw worry and potential sadness in his eyes. The vampire licked his lips absently. Ashlen figured rather quickly that he was scared that she would leave or change her mind. His fingers worked the sheets thoughtfully. "You're not hunting tonight?"
His head jerked up in surprise. Vlad had drifted into a daydream. "Oh, no." He glanced away.
"If you want," The witch touched her neck a little. "And if you go easy and don't try to turn me," The count's eyes found her throat. "You can feed on me again." It was a reassurance for him, so he didn't worry that she would abandon him.
"Really?" He looked surprised, but only faintly. She nodded. His fangs had begun to grow, barely poking from under his lips. "You're okay vith me biting you again?" Ashlen bobbed her head in a 'yes'. Without wasting a moment he began to hypnotize what pain there would be away.
