We are in Iraq 🇮🇶 getting ready for the Gulf Cup! 6 Gulf teams & 2 non-Gulf teams (8 total) are participating.Gulf teams:
- Kuwait 🇰🇼 (our team)
- Bahrain 🇧🇭 (title holders)
- Qatar 🇶🇦 (Asian champions and former World Cup hosts)
- Saudi 🇸🇦
- UAE 🇦🇪
- Oman 🇴🇲
Non-Gulf teams:
- Iraq 🇮🇶
- Yemen 🇾🇪
The 25th Arabian Gulf Cup inshallah will begin next Friday, 1/6 with the hosts Iraq 🇮🇶 taking on Oman 🇴🇲 at 6:45pm (Kuwait time). The matches will be played in two stadiums in Basra, the Basra International Stadium and the Al-Minaa Olympic Stadium.
Note: Iraq 🇮🇶 is in the same time zone as Kuwait 🇰🇼
There are only 2 Groups at the Gulf Cup:
Group A:
- Iraq 🇮🇶 (hosts)
- Yemen 🇾🇪
- Saudi 🇸🇦
- Oman 🇴🇲
Group B:
- Kuwait 🇰🇼
- Bahrain 🇧🇭 (holders)
- Qatar 🇶🇦
- UAE 🇦🇪
Our team 🇰🇼 is drawn in Group B with the defending Gulf champions Bahrain 🇧🇭, the Asian champions and former World Cup hosts Qatar 🇶🇦, & the UAE 🇦🇪. We will play Qatar 🇶🇦 first at the Al-Minaa on Saturday, 1/7 at 7:15pm, then the UAE 🇦🇪 (also at Al-Minaa) on Tuesday, 1/10 at 4:15pm (Kuwait time), & then we will play the holders Bahrain 🇧🇭 at Al-Basra on Friday, 1/13 at 6PM (Kuwait time).
The top two in each group will advance to the semis which will take place on Monday, 1/16 & then the final will take place on Thursday, 1/19.
