Lookin good so far I find it helps me to lay down a simple flat color background first before I do anything to get rid of all that white. Otherwise your colors end up looking pale, unless that is the look you were going for I look forward to seeing this finished.

You're really not too bad at CG, not as bad as you think. You have the line art part down, and that's the most important part. It's all down hill from there. ^_^ You should definately do more!
