On Tumblredit:lol guys, read the description instead of asking the same questions that's been answered here xD;
I tried some depth-mapping with my mouse xD;. my mouse-control's pretty horrendous though lol. this was done on www.depthy.me with one of my daily sketches xD.
gonna try to do a depth-map on photoshop someday and see how it uploads onto one of my paintings cause it's so hard to do gradiation with the website alone "orz.

this is pretty slick. I could easily imagine this being done easily by height mapping using 3D Studio Max and photoshop.
I say easy, that doesnt mean it doesnt take skill.

Ah I see, I didn't read your description fully before posting. I thought maybe you saw Sinix's recent Photoshop and After Effects tutorial where he uses a depth map to do this in those programs.
