Wow, haha...it's been years. Well, uhh, i can't say I'm really back per se. I haven't really been posting on other social medias either tbh (though instead of 2 years it's just been 2 months), but it's been so long and apparently I'm still getting activity notifications here....i'm not even sure how many of my watchers are still here though xDD;
It's been soooo long that I forgot my username here's not Qinniart but just Qinni. LOLLLLΒ
Well, for those of peeps not kept up and who might be curious, I kinda had a few heart surgeries (4 so far in total), and I'm kinda on a lot of heart meds which is ruining me a little bit xD. my energy is pretty much in the negatives and yeah, not fun. My heart is still kinda diseased and has the same problem, so I'm taking a lot of stuff to try and combat it....? xD It's a long story.
Sorry I abandoned this place lol. There was a few reasons, one of which was that I was pretty put off by some dude telling me to show him my heart surgery scar. I pretty much noped out of this whole place LOL. Also the fetish stuff on this site kinda...well, it's not my cup of tea. Sorry. No kink shame, but I just didn't wanna see it haha...not sure if it's grown or not, i'm too afraid of stepping onto the front page now x__x;;.Β
The new UI looks cool though~~ Maybe I'll upload my cover photo up on my gallery if I'm not too lazy. xD

I'm sorry to hear that you've had to go through so many surgeries but I hope they've made you feel better. Be sure to take care of your health, both the physical and mental one.

Also I totally agree! There are some weird people on DA and lots of fetish art I don't like. I'm glad that with Deviantart Eclipse, you can remove certain tags ^^

I never understood who leaves DA, imho, this is the best site (if not the only good one) for art. (but I don't know so many social networks, I have to say it).

As far as I can tell a lot of more professional artists have been fleeing this(burning dumpster) for years, and I'm disgusted at how DA's only now preparing some updates etc. The platform's completely obsolete.

DA has had many updates over the years, you know? (And if with "now" you refer to Eclipse, well, that sucks).
Obsolete? How exactly? Personally I don't see obsolescence.

The overall design and functionality, at the surface level, has been exactly the same for at least my entire time being here. And your surface level has to be very good to entice people to bother looking any deeper.
Eclipse is bad? Then this site will probably stagnate(I consider the main page overtaken by fetish and garbage if not stagnation, nothing good anyway) further and finally die off.

I've been on DA for about 10 years, and at the beginning it was completely different, to make a comparison, I am on FB from the same period, and the site has remained roughly the same.
I don't know what kind ofΒ extreme changes you expect, but I have seen more changes in DA than in many other sites I attend.
A site where I click on things and nothing happens, it's certainly not good.

I understand what you mean there, I have had work taken and people won't give me credit for it to use on their sites. At least I know five of my images are owned by org. so if some takes those it them with the money and the lawyers that deal with it not me.

They probably haven't seen a lot of the worse out there. Heck my boyfriend at the time wanted to prove to me that you could find any p*rn on the internet. I said flamingo p*rn as the challenge something wild and out there. He found an illustration me Warf from star trek F*cking a Flamingo. I was laughing hysterically and slightly disturbed.Β
As far asΒ DA I have had the misfortune of seeing some of the more messed up stuff come in my browser here.
However, I just do this thing called ignore and keep looking through the other works I actually care about and want to see.
Others have seen complain in threads about DA being mostly p*rn particular the child type. I have only seen one image that looked like it crossed the minor boundary and reported it. The fetish stuff is just personally not my cup of tea, however, its DeviantArt the name says it all. They have a fetish and are making images for others with that fetish, whatever.
It is a problem for people who want to whine complain about stuff they could just ignore and get on with their lives.Β

I would love to flee, as I am sick of all the pornographic material on DA as well people like to pass off as "artistic" *scoffs* Would you happen to have a recommendation for another place? Most others I know don't get nearly the same foot traffic as DA still, no matter how much it's going under. =/Β

Ok, check the front page now: there are just a couple of images with nudes (which isn't exactly pornography), but there's a fair amount of the "weird fetishes" to which Qinni referred earlier. Personally, I don't find them very disturbing, just weird; the only thing you can do is ignore them, but I know that it can be difficult for someone.
However, I rarely look at the front page, there are other ways to browsing.

Sorry to hear that... that's very rugged and hard. I am, however, happy to see you come back and post in spite of your hardships and frustration with some of the users. While I've never had heart surgery, I was born with a hole in my heart. I'm lucky it's never caused me any problems (and I hope it never does), but it does make a good excuse for visual and story metaphors of incomplete hearts: Friends are Forever . Anyways, welcome back, I hope you're here to stay. I hope that you are able to find a solution for your heart. Your animation of the woman and the golden fish is both stellar and inspiring, I have enjoyed sharing it with the new friends I have made along the way.
