Description

The sun set upon the kingdom bathed in red and orange, the sounds of the air trickling through autumn leaves. The owl breathed in deeply taking in the peace, the quiet, her eyes dancing like the trees around her. Another day in paradise, her father preparing a window to a canvas above the borders imagined and maintained in the minds of the populace.

She smiled a little, allowing her mind to sprinkle hints of sparkling lights glistening in a void, incomprehensibly large never falling in an infinitely colossal depth. Beautiful, beautiful lights. The wind and leaves were interrupted by gentle yet firm steps, meant to obviously disturb as little of the ambiance as possible. "Hey there, whaddya doin up here by yourself?" the wolf asked casually as she come to rest her elbows on the ledge.

"Nothin much, just can't wait for my dad to finish setting up the show." The owl said pointing to a brightly lit region of the forested area below them. The wolf looked on to see flashes of light in blue and purple firing out to the hum of the wind, like a vortex drawing the dancing corpses toward it.

"What's he gonna show us this time?"

"Can never really tell with him, could be the outer ecliptic, Thea's war, or like a million other things he could pull literally anywhere in space." The wolf smiled at her optimism, gripping her into a one armed hug, a gesture returned almost immediately, a smile wide and joyous from the Owl.

"You wanna go down and help, my Dad's set up a sniper's nest about a hundred meters away." The wolf said looking back. The owl followed suit breaking the hug gently before looking back at the wolf and asking,

"To protect us?"

"Well, yeah, wants te keep us in his sight, I just wanna give him a bit of a tease" the two pause for a second before the owl giggles a little.

"Let's give him a break okay, we don't have to do it every time."

"It'll be funny"

"I know, it always is," The owl continued,"but I think we can at least let him feel at ease just this once don't you? I mean I want him to at least see the stars before we give him another mental breakdown." The owl finished as the wolf snickered.

A bit of a longer pause grew between the sisters as the ritual seemed to be coming to an end...

"Hey Via?" The wolf asked gently.

"Yes"

"Do you think that the stars know we're here?"

"What do you mean?"

"Like, I dunno, like one day I'll be able to look up and see them the same as you?" The wolf asked placing her hands firmly on the ledge. Octavia took a deep breathe, closing her eyes holding her smile.

"Loona, the stars are there, as our companions, as our guides, as our glimpse into the deepest parts of ourselves. I think you and I can see them, maybe not quite the same, but together at least. I think that's enough" Octavia opened her eyes and looked at her sister compassionately gripping her shoulder. Loona took a moment before letting her smile creep back into view,

"Maybe it's that they're trying to shine, trying like us, that's more important than we think."

A while later the girls were awe struck by cosmic displays, bewitching the eyes and enticing the hearts of all in view. The sisters, The fathers, The family, All together, happily just enjoying the humble and pleasant warmth of each others company.

Hey guys, I know I'm kinda late but I really did enjoy, "Seeing Stars," the latest episode by Vivziepop and Co. Love the chemistry between these two and wanted to draw something about them.

This is an Idea I have for a series with these two called, "another life." Might be doing more in the future.
