Description
Built sometime after the inital Excelsior Classes; the Excelsior Class Refit started construction in 2294, and continuing along with it's original variant all the way into late 24th Century. The Excelsior Class Refit had some minor changes from the original Excelsior Class; like secondary impulse drives, upper nacelle fins and modified secondary hull.
The successor to the USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-A is the USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-B; which is a Excelsior Class Refit, which was captained by Captain John Harriman. The Enterprise-B responded to a distress call from the Transport vessel Lakul, as it was stuck along with another ship in a Gravametric Distortion. They figured they can discharge the Distortion with a few Photon Torpedoes, luckily there was 5 ready, so they fired 2 out, that caused the Distortion to revert local space back to normal.
The Excelsior Class Refit would last for so long, alongside it's original forbearer that, by 2388; the Neo-Excelsior Class was introduced to replaced both original Excelsior Classes, as it was based on workings of the Soverigen Class and Excelsior-Evo Class. But even with the introduction of the Neo-Excelsior Class, the original Excelsior Class Refit along with the original Excelsior Class still treaded on, despite being both refitted to Excelsior-Evos.
