Description

This was my submission to Smogon's 21st Create-a-Pokemon Project, a Rock/Poison Mega Pokemon that exploited the advantages of its typing.

It took me several iterations to snatch a satisfying inspiration for this design, even after the abilities were decided! CAP 21 having Regenerator and Magic Guard reminded me of Reuniclus, and a microscopic creature and the CAP's Poison typing made me think of my old fakemon Trirus . I worked with that as a basis and ended up with an alien gemstone virus. I admit that the design may be a bit mundane to some, but I kept things simple for the sake of spriters and modelers. CAP submitters had twice as much work as usual, so I thought it may be nice to not strain their time too much.

This design got fifth place out of 24 submissions!

I admit I like how 'Pathogem' clicked for me as a name, but it reminds me a bit of 'Stratagem', which works in its design better. Ah, well. This design didn't win, so I'll call it whatever I'd like.

For the curious, here are the other two ideas I was trying out before settling in on Pathogem.
