On the surface, Infinity is bold, outspoken, confident, and a bit self-centered. She seems like the kind of pony who puts her needs above anyone else's, and couldn't care less what other ponies think of her. While it's true that she is proud and maybe a bit arrogant, she isn't quite as carefree as most ponies think. Under that layer of bravado, she is constantly terrified of being rejected or left behind by other ponies, to the point where she tends to push others away. This comes from her having a long history of failed friendships, in which she grew close to another pony, only to have them abruptly ditch her, either for other friends, or because they simply lost interest in her. She's hesitant to trust, and has learned not to expect anything from anyone- especially not herself. Despite this, she has a lot of love to give, and her close friends know how caring she can be when given the chance.
Fin has always been close to her little brother, and she was the one who encouraged him to follow his dream of becoming a gymnast. When he won his first trophy and got his cutie mark, she was almost more proud than her mothers were. She's a supportive sister, and she loves her flippy boy, even if he can be a bit doofy at times.
Damselfly has always been a bit of an enigma, especially to Fin. She's so quiet and calm all the time that it almost freaks her out. She's tried for years to get the filly to talk or laugh or do anything, really, but to no avail. Rainbow Dash assures her that Damsel's fine just the way she is, and that some children are just built differently. Discovering Damsel's love of sea life and stuffed animals finally gave Fin something to work with. Any time she sees a stuffed whale or sea turtle or dolphin in a store or claw machine, she gets it for her little sis-- or, at least, she tries. Claw machines are always rigged, she insists.
As Rainbow Dash's daughter, she grew up beside Pinkie's kids, and was friends with Magpie when she was a foal. They had some good times together, but he eventually ended up leaving her and their friendship behind to pursue acting. Infinity tried not to hold this against the colt, but she's still a bit upset with him. He didn't intend to hurt her as much as he did, but his actions had a lasting effect on the filly.
After Magpie moved on, Fin found herself spending more and more time with his sister, Piper. Infinity found her very strange, but oddly charming. Piper has always been in the background of Fin's life, though she's never quite realized it. They aren't very close, but Fin respects Piper and her positive outlook on life. If she would just open up a bit, Fin would probably find that they could really benefit from each other's company.
When she attended flight school in Cloudsdale, Fin befriended Tailspin, the daughter of Spitfire and Dumbbell. Unfortunately, this friendship also ended badly, as Tailspin was an expert flier, and became a bit of a celebrity at the school. She quickly forgot about her friend, and instead enjoyed the company of other prodigies.
Fin loves her little cousin, Gale. The griffon-pony hybrid has always intrigued her, and she often finds herself drawn to the fluffy ball of energy. Maternal instincts!? They don't see each other as much as Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo do, but they get along pretty well.
Despite the fact that she isn't a fan of little kids, Fin often gets roped into babysitting for her mother's friends, mostly Pinkie Pie. When Piper's away at camp, Infinity is the go-to kid watcher. Cherry Blossom is pretty easy to deal with- in fact, the filly reminds Fin of her own sister- but Pompom can be a handful. She's roped Infinity into many Spookster Club trips, whether it's to an abandoned schoolhouse, an old well, or a shed in the Everfree Forest, and she's seen things she could really have done without. How are those kids not traumatized by that stuff?!
Mentally speaking, Infinity is a bit of a mess. She used to be very energetic, confident, and fun to be around, but depression doesn't discriminate, and she fell victim to it when she was a teenager. Her family tried their best to help her, but they didn't truly understand what was wrong, and weren't able to get her proper treatment for a while. Therapy helped, but she still felt like she had to deal with her problems by herself-- this led to her leaving home when she was eighteen. She joined the Extended Equestrian Postal Service, where she used her long-distance flying skills to carry packages and letters across oceans, mountains, plains, and deserts, often leaving Equestria. She didn't tell anyone when she left except Spring Hues, who was her girlfriend at the time, but she left a letter for her family, and wrote to them regularly. She didn't return home for three years. This time in her life was rough for her and her family, but it helped her to learn a lot about herself, and clear her head a bit. When she finally came back to Ponyville, she was a different and better pony. She stayed a postmare, but was more local after her return, and rarely left home for more than a day or two at a time.
Infinity's past relationships include Spring Hues, Geode, Orange Drops, Hemlock Fable, and a few other mares that she had one-time encounters with, but she somehow ends up having her heart stolen by a very mysterious creature...
