I am embarassed to admit that I have no idea what cosplay is or who Ashelin is. However, I could not be more impressed by the amazing outfit you created by hand! 
It is amazing to me that this kid in a t-shirt and goggles managed to win this competition that you entered. I can only assume that the contest was judged by a blind panel. I guess there are politics in every event

My goodness. Thank you for the wonderfull compliment and for the fav. Ashelin is a character from the PS2 game series Jak and Daxter. The particular outfit that I made is from the game Jak X.
I think the word "cosplay" is short for "costume play." Basicly people attend massive gaming or Anime conventions and dress up as thier favorite character. It's huge over in Japan and has caught on in the States. There is usualy a costume contest or two. I want to find another place to enter this costume in. It took for freaking ever to make and It would be nice to see what other awards I could win.

You are welcome. I was sucked into your gallery. I like how you documented every step of the creation of the outfit. The workmanship was amazing, and just blew me away. The depth and range of talent on DA is just amazing, and you are a perfect example. I knew nothing of the character, cosplay, or clothing/costume design, but could easily spot your talent.
I don't know much about the game series, but the side by side comparisons of you and Ashelin look perfect. I hope you find a different convention to attend and show off your creation. You really do deserve credit for the amazing outfit.

The goggles:
I started with a pair of welding goggles as a base. I painted the parts that would show, silver. Next I removed all of the parts of the goggles I wasn't going to use and covered the eye-pieces in brown vinyl. This took some sewing to get all the contours I needed. Then I used mileners glue to attach the finished piece to the goggles. The piece of metal in the center was a belt buckle that I attached by using another piece of brown vinyl to sort of loop it arround the existing goggles. Next I added straps to the goggles so that they could snap on to my headgear which was sewn to my wig.

In your browsing of DA, why did you feel it necessary to take your precious time to leave a negative, one word comment? Would you care to elaborate? Or were you just bored and thought flaming me would be entertaining?
I went to your site and saw that you are still somewhat new to DA, so I'll give you a tip. When a person puts "Critique Not Desired" on a finished piece of art, that means that comments like the one you gave are not wanted or appreciated.
However, since you decided to be so bold and leave me your monolylabic wisdom, be assured that I have seen the error of my ways and will NEVER pick up a sewing needle again. Your single comment has shown me that everyone of the other hundreds of positive comments HAD to be made by complete morons, who were however able to explain thier enthusiasm in more than just one word.
Trust me chic, you want to get more people to look at your work? Leaving comments like this wil not help your cause.
