The pose makes this so much better... with her knee out towards the camera and stretching the stocking, the squares enlarge and become distorted. Awesome effect! Great way to tie in a model to the surroundings, much like with the apples image. You seem to have a great eye for that!!
I love how the checker patterns don't quite match up, but all play on the eye and mind the same, drawing the eyes over and into the picture that much more... which is vital, of course. Her hair being red sets it apart, giving another focal point of the image off to the side.

Sorry, had to come back and say I would make the white tiles more vibrant almost to the point of glowing but not quite and the black tiles deeper like a black hole.. so that it seems surreal. Nothing a bit of PS can't do.

I like this image a LOT... except for one thing. The black and white tiles on the floor.. I wish they were cleaned up and smoothed out so they were solid and not speckled so that it made the image stronger and not distract from it.
Her hair and clothing is perfect.. just the tiles is bad.. it makes me want to clean it up lol.
