💬 Oomf requested Jackie Robinson as the first portrait for Black History Month. I’m not going to lie...I know absolutely nothing about sports and have heard of Jackie Robinson but didn’t really know anything about him. I learned that he was the first African American to play in the MLB. Not even touching on his impressive baseball career, he was also a huge influence of the civil rights movement and promoted nonviolence in his advocacy. I really enjoyed learning about someone in history that I would not have otherwise had the thought to research on my own. It was also very fun to incorporate movement and action in this sketch since I’m used to drawing poses and not candid images such as this. BLM
