Description
Unicorns are a common herbivore species on Lardomum, the largest being the Boreal Unicorns of Czarzemlaw.
Living mostly in the northern regions, their fur is very thick to retain heat, the mane flopping over in the coldest months to protect the eyes against the relentless frost and snowstorms. Fur spreads out around the hooves to better displace weight on snow and ice, and the tail is especially thick to protect the rump from smaller predators.

The horn was once thought to be exclusive to males, but the local giants revealed to Manavan colonist that the horn is amongst all mature Boreal Unicorns. It is generally used to shovel for vegetation beneath snow and dirt.

Predators of Boreal Unicorns include Czar Wolves, Maned Bears, Boreal Sabre Cats, and rare Griffins.

The giants of Czarzemlaw have partially domesticated the Boreal Unicorn, generally as livestock. The Manava have begun procedures to fully tame the species as mounts, allowing easier travel through colder climates that Manavan vehicles would have too much difficulty passing through.
