Quick sketch concepts of an alien race called The Khuul. (also some ape men doodles, ignore those)

Khuul have three eyes, two within a protective transparent dome near their mouth that can analyze detail, and a third on the "tail" for seeing great distances. Their claws have multiple manipulators for different grabbing pressures, with larger mitten claws for broader grip and smaller pincers for finer manipulation. "Wings" are meant partially as communication, and to display health and virility. Their tails often stand upright, but may lower to balance the Khuul when running, to hide their profile when stalking, or to more easily fit into small spaces.

These elephant sized creatures are slow but meticulous predators who evolved to circle herds of prey in coordinated groups and slowly crush them as they move in, like a wall of scale and claw. The modern day Khuul have transmitted these tactics into space travel, spreading out their empire to entrap worlds of interest and close in. Their pale and scaly fungus like bio-technology allows rapid development of structures, clothing, weaponry, and vehicles as well as meaty animal-like automatons.

The Khuul empire is in a constant state of expansion and withering as the far-spread colonization allows some Khuul colonies to develop unique cultures and morphologies in isolation. This labels them "Un-Khuul" by the standards of the empire and results in genocidal civil war until the victor redefines what is truly Khuul.

It is unknown if the current empire is the "original" Khuul, or the latest successful colonist.
