If you're wondering, I'm not into grimdark anymore. But I was when I was in high school. Lots of anger and depression brought me to a place where I felt like the only way to get in touch with those feelings was to watch characters I loved get hurt like that. Feeling like I was wrong to enjoy the things I did to a strong extent.

There are better outlets for your feelings than to associate the things you love with evil.
