Description Did you forget the words I’d say?
The passion in every motive,
A deeper purpose—
In every act.

But I’m glad this knife—
Thrust through my lungs,
Has never drawn back,
It keeps the blood from leaking,
It saves the dreams I have.

And look you’ve left me breathless,
Choking on my own tongue,
As I hope when you are dying,
The taste of metal in your mouth—
Reminds you…
Of all I’ve done.

Interesting idea with the knife not being drawn back, which keeps the blood in. I also liked the line about the taste of metal in the mouth.
