My re-drawing of the SpongeBob's earliest prototype, which I had originally meant to use for my "25 Years of the Sponge" artwork.

The original plan for the title "SpongeBoy Ahoy!" shows that SpongeBoy was supposed to be SpongeBob's original name. That was eventually given to him, though, because a supposed "mop company or brand" was already using it, giving him the famous name we are all familiar with.
