Description
Tried speedpainting and resulted in this. around 40 minutes per piece.Remember when my digital painting used to look like this [link] ? Yeah, they were the lesser times. Hell my shitty ass sceneries sucked major cock a year ago and they.. pretty much still do but I'm learning all the time.
Anyway, nowadays I love painting sceneries. My favourite themes include forests (hey, I'm Finnish, we have a boner for that), buildings and well, just plain beautiful nature. Since last fall I've been infatuated by slavic shit and spent some of my days recently watching photos from Russia and Pripyat. Because of Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986 some of the Ukranian and Belarussian border area (Zone of alienation) is pretty much deserted, including the famous town of Pripyat. I would love to visit that place one day, but along with this city there is an area called the Wolves' land in Belarussia that is completely wiped off the charts due to its high radiation levels. I saw a lot of kickass photos from there, deserted old houses and a total jungle around them. Creepy as fuck, but fascinating as hell.
So yeah needless to say the piece on the right is inspired by the imagery. The swamp thing, I have no idea. I just like swamps.
