Shon under bright stage lights

Cheng and Eng the siamese twins
Myrtle, four legs had she
Tom Thumb stood only four feet tall
George Lippert had legs three

"You're in for a sight!" Called Barnum
The crowds all gathered 'round
"For here I have the best display
I could have ever found."

Damon did the introduction
Molly did the display
Barnum stood back and watched the show
Marveled in the midway

The spectators they oohed and aahed
At the sights they did see
Damon saw it for what it was
A cruel venality

Of all his years with the circus
He had now seen it all
From disfigured to twisted beings
And now it was his call

Though his life was more than stirring
He felt it grow tiresome
He packed up his bags and left it
The place from where he'd come

Barnum sought out another one
A carnie just the same
But never did he find a gent
As good at Damon's game

To Barnum's great surprise one day
A gentleman did say
"This is my home," Damon looked 'round
"I hope you'll let me stay."
