Story:
It just was spring when Claude had been chased away from his 'family' herd. He was old enough to live on his own now and the lead stallion didn't want him to stay any longer. He was clueless what he should do for now, so he decided to explore the land. The wind was nice and refreshing after he had galloped for a while and stopped on a hill in a valley. There he could get a great view from his surroundings. But he’d get a better one on the mountains in the nearer distance. He began to head into that direction, but decided to rest when he reached the forest and did found a good spot as it had grown darker and the sun had already set.

When the sun rose he began to head for the mountain and reached the top rather soon. He had a great view over the valley and could look far into the land. With this wonderful view in mind he descended the mountain again and headed for the plains with the large lake. Before he reached the lake though he saw a lone horse grazing. He was unsure whether or not to approach it. Nothing really bad could happen, right? In the worst case he would just go back and around that horse.

He was noticed immediately, the horse looked up and right at him. As he came nearer he noticed that it was a stallion. Claude trotted towards him and greeted him friendly. The other one, so Claude guessed, was a younger stallion like himself and greeted him back.

“Are you alone here?”, Claude asked the Bay.

“Yes. I’m alone for a week now as I was chased out. By the way I’m Shay.”

“I’m Claude. And then you are in the same situation like me. I was chased out just yesterday. Though I’m rather clueless what to do now.”

“Well likewise. But how about we travel together? I by far wouldn’t want to stay alone”, Shay offered.

“Oh that’d be awesome!” Claude nodded. “Well maybe we should search for a good place to stay for now? And then think about what to do next?”

“Sounds good.”

The two chatted for a while and then decided to head south. They came into sight of a herd and the lead stallion directly strutted towards them to warn them. They immediately caught his message and didn’t want to fight.

“How about testing the waters?”, Claude asked.

“What?”

“I asked if we should run through the lake to avoid that herd over there?”

“Ahh, sorry. Sure!”, Shay was confused at first, but had cleared it immediately after.

So the two headed towards the lake and splashed through the water. It was pleasant and refreshing. The other stallion let them be as he saw they didn’t want to disturb him or his herd. Claude and Shay crossed the lake and emerged on the other side. They trotted across the plain and reached the nearest forest and entered it. For now they wanted to get through the woods and see what they find in the next valley.
