Description Here's another one of my original Transformers fan characters, and in fact arguably the oldest one in regards to creation time. His current personality is absolutely nothing like the one he originally had, but I do suppose it's more befitting a Decepticon. Alt mode picture later, but it should be somewhat easy to tell that it's an Indy Car type.

Profile:

Originally named “Oversteer” and the counterpart to his brother Understeer, VASSER has never been known for his common sense; sent to Earth as part of a scouting attachment, his immediate choice for an alternate mode was a ludicrously conspicuous and not street legal in the least CART race car. Already a bit of a showoff in regards to alt mode skills and otherwise overdramatic performances, transferring to Earth has provoked an uncomfortable underlying change in the Decepticon’s personality: Vasser has become disconcertingly fixated on the professional race car driver of the vehicle he originally scanned, to the point where he has renamed himself after him in apparent honor. He isn’t so much a swooning fanboy so much as an increasingly unstable obsessive celebrity stalker; his condition has well since eclipsed the range of ‘secret admirer’.

Though Vasser's fantasies are usually kept to himself, the most visible one as well as the one that disgusts his comrades the most is the disturbingly, almost Freudian desire for the driver he idolizes to pilot him, to control him, to appreciate his abilities as both a vehicle and a robot, something he considers the most satisfying reward a fan like him could be given. The fact that this runs almost totally contrary to Decepticon protocol means nothing to him; neither do the awkward connotations the fantasy implies. It is unknown at this point whether the human driver is aware of his stalker at all.

Abilities:

Vasser’s 1998 Ganassi open-wheel alternate mode is every bit as maneuverable and blisteringly fast as the original race cars themselves, making him one of the fastest and most maneuverable land-based Decepticons. In robot mode Vasser sports a 360-degree field of vision with his optic band wrapping fully around his helmet, along with enhanced auditory reception capabilities, originally intended for use in his role as a scout. The nose cone of his vehicle mode houses a Decepticon standard-issue personal laser rifle, which is otherwise unremarkable; Vasser’s duties as a scout and courier preclude his participation in heavy combat, the rifle is primarily only for self-defense.

Weaknesses:

Vasser’s alternate mode is one of the least-armored and least-armed altogether of the Decepticons, and he is fairly useless in combat, as his only weapon in vehicle mode is an impossible to aim standard-issue laser and in robot mode his marksmanship is as existent as his common sense. Although he can be coerced into keeping his mind on his mission outside of human environs, any time Vasser operates within even remote range of human cameras or even just humans the notion of indirectly impressing his would-be driver dominates his thought process. Vasser is convinced that somehow, some way, all of his activities on Earth are somehow visible and available to the populace and feels that his driver will eventually come to terms with his superior abilities and advantages in this way. Other Decepticons downright refuse to work with Vasser for both what they perceived as being too soft towards humans and his inability to focus as a result. Talks of transferring Vasser away from Earth duty at the first available opportunity are not unfounded.
