A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT 1940S FASHION (:
I had to research this decade for my history class, and I thought it relevant haha//

1940s in America was an interesting period to study; the restrictions placed by the War Production Board (WPB) during the war created the goal of fabric conservation among fashion industries, and many created new styles using clever materials, forced to make do with what was available. Vogue started a campaign, “Make Do & Mend,” to encourage Americans to cut down on their material use. With the men off to war, women stepped up to take their places, and the number of women in the working-class increased exponentially in the next few years. Rosie the Riveter set the look for these women: functional and comfortable, but chic and fashionable clothing. With padded shoulders, broad chests, narrow hips, feminine hats, and comfortable flats, the prevalent clothing styles reflected the functionality that women sought for as part of the working class. The end of the war brought about a drastic change in lifestyle, reflected with the introduction of the “New Look,” introduced by the prominent stylist Christian Dior, bringing about feminine dresses with long, full skirts, and tight waists.

Sleek, elegant outfits with flowing fabric, the styles of the 1940s emphasized femininity as well as strength and functionality. I tried to depict Cho and Hinata in the fashions of the 1940s *v* Much of the key characteristics of the clothes then can still be seen in the high waisted skirts and dresses and long overcoats commonly worn today!!

These amazing characters from #EverScript belong to *BritsMc13 !! *v*
