That only took what... a year?I finally got a new computer, re-purchased photoshop (because they're snotty, money grubbing, little toads there), and decided to stay up late even though I have to be at work at silly-o-clock tomorrow morning. AUGH. Curse you compulsions... and coffee!

Next time I decide that a low-poly-count game needs an awesome wallpaper someone please slap me upside the head.
While Wizard101 and it's characters are copyrite Wizard101 and I do not own it or any part of it I DID bust my patooty to make this wallpaper. While it is free to download please do not modify and/or repost elsewhere on the internet with out first asking me. If I find out (and I have plenty of minions) I *WILL* feed you to Henry... slowly.

The short answer is layers, lots and lots of delicious Photoshop layers.

But yeah, each wizard had at least 10 layers of special effects on them.

This work is amazing. I really love the game myself.
Just a quick question: Are the shield and the cards actual in game items? Had I known they existed, I would have busted MY patooty (as you put it) to find them. o_o
Either way, I feel you did an amazing job at portraying the intensity between the two groups.

I made the cards by hand, they were just a quick project that happened to turn out well.
The shield is the Life Shield from in game. I have a floating 'stage' set up in one of my auxiliary homes that allows me to get a great shot of anything you can stick on a wall. It's basically a 1 tier rug ladder with something behind you that blocks the camera so you can see through your avatar at something right in front of you. Building this right up against a wall was a little trying, but the result was great, the actual shield picture is actualy 400x500ish wide, so the quality was great. I still edited it to death though, it was too 'clean' for the mood of the picture

Wizard weekly is dead, after all the things that have happened when I try and get it up and running again I really don't want to even pick it up again. I've had several wizards approach me about doing WizWeekly recently, so it may be back in a different, hopefully better quality, format XD

You're not a noob 
My advice to everyone starting out with photoshop is 'Use More Layers' and don't be intimidated by the 'Groups' feature. The ice student alone took ... ummm.... ~vanishes for a second to go count~ exactly 20 layers, about 10 of which were for special effects alone. It's a bit overkill, but it allows me to change the blend mode or FX of a specific layer with out damaging the rest and it makes coloring mad easier <3

Ahhhh Photoshop talk! I barely got the layers to work, even though I understand their purposes. I need to go to the Youtube Guru or something. But thanks much for the encouragement.. I can't keep using Windows Paint forever xD

Lol, it's easier than people make it sound, and honestly... You can watch videos and read books, but the only way you're going to learn the program for *real* is by fooling around with it. Experiment with it, play with it, make something TOTALLY random with it. :3 Have fun!

That aside, it looks pretty good. I never played the game myself to know where it all stands, but as an artistic wallpaper, I say yay!
