This is a full comic from *Kumkrum , who made the original sketch. Go check out the original comic above and give some love to the original creator.

Again, go tell *Kumkrum and =TukaTheWolf I love them for coming up with the characters/sketches. <3

Oh, and just in case this one gets as popular as the last one, PLEASE tell me in the comment where you got linked this from! I'd love to know which sites are featuring my art, and sourcing it properly!

Edit: A lot of people seem to be talking about the lack of wings. When I vector a sketch, I try to keep it as faithful to the original as I can. Also, I'd imagine wings from that angle to be quite hard to vector. So yeah. The faithful thing.

I think you should support creator-driven programming to encourage animation studios to come up with original ideas instead of rebooting established franchises for the purpose of selling merchandise.

If TV is just about selling merchandise, then creativity is dead.

Plus, I have to say, it's not a good sign that men are drawing little girl's characters.

Playcircus In reply to portaljumper339 [2012-08-06 15:14:21 +0000 UTC]

I have seen about ten episodes, which were very difficult to watch. There is nothing there for an adult male to see. I have seen many additional clips as well. These were all recommended by fans of the show as the best examples its quality.

portaljumper339 In reply to Playcircus [2012-08-06 15:52:42 +0000 UTC]

I see... well, I respect your opinion, but if I could give a suggestion, I wouldn't comment on MLP related posts just to say that you don't like it. Despite all of our talk of tolerance, we can get pretty riled up at times.

Confrontation is the only way to make a change. Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore, and My Little Pony should all be protested.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

portaljumper339 In reply to Playcircus [2012-08-06 22:07:15 +0000 UTC]

The first two I agree with you, but those first two things are degrading to our culture and our intelligence. MLP, on the other hand, enriches many people's lives, has drawn friends and families together because of common interests, and (and this is my opinion) actually lowers the level of jackasses on the Internet who have nothing better to do than create conflict where none exists and forces others who are just trying to have a good time to defend their position to the intolerant morons who can't let something that is perfectly harmless be just that.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Playcircus In reply to portaljumper339 [2012-08-06 22:17:59 +0000 UTC]

You are so oblivious if you think MLP is any different than Justin Bieber and Jersey Shore. It's entertainment for the thoughtless. If your life is enriched by a licensed program designed by a company who historically turns the animation industry into a marketing tool to sell products, then how sad must your life have been.

It doesn't have any merit as a creative entity, it's just a twenty minute ad. How can you let Hasbro get away with this again? They turned the 80's into a merchandise-driven era, and now your letting them do it again.

Also, you're a grown man. You need to stop hording magical princess pony art. Let the little girls enjoy their television programs without having to worry about creeps doing the same thing.

portaljumper339 In reply to Playcircus [2012-08-06 23:27:41 +0000 UTC]

Okay, first off, I am 17. Secondly, I am perfectly aware of the fact that people will think I am weird for watching this show, and I am perfectly fine with that. Let them think what they think. Thirdly, sure, Hasbro may just be making this show to turn a profit for their toys, but this show proves that you can sell toys a hell of a lot better if you have a funny, heartwarming, and engaging show that can appeal to a wider audience than what is intended rather than the execrable show that was churned out in the 80's.

I am about as far away from a corporate stooge as you can get. I never shop at Wal-Mart, I support local businesses, and I question the status quo on a daily basis. When I say I like this show, it isn't because I love the toys, or am happy that some pale man in a business suit threw down some meager chicken bone from atop his ivory tower. I was a hater just like you, but I saw through the prejudices and the corporatization to see that this is a well made show, particularly for an era after the Golden Age of Animation in the 90's. I hope that you will be able to accept those who are different and enjoy different things, but until that time I hope that you will not harbor any ill will towards us.

I haven't seen anything funny, heartwarming, or engaging about MLP. Not relative to an adult male's interests. I wonder what you find heartwarming about a bunch of magical princess ponies gushing about friendship. I'm sure it's just the cutesy trend plaguing the world these days. Have you ever read a majority of the comments for any MLP fanart piece. They go a little something like this:

"Awww."
"So cute."
"So sweet.
"Just adorable."

Really? That's what is inspired by MLP, and you think it's okay to not only watch it regularly, but also horde pictures in your favorites in support over much more thoughtful submissions? If there was any status quo that needed to be challenged here on DA, it is mindlessly cutesy fanart. It's just trash, and that's all people care about. 90% of your favorites is just cutey-fag MLP deviations. It's not okay.

portaljumper339 In reply to Playcircus [2012-08-07 16:23:52 +0000 UTC]

My main reason for watching the show isn't for some sick pleasure, it's because I honestly feel that it can actually teach a good lesson on a wide variety of topics, as opposed to most cartoon shows these days which, if they aren't stupid, ar just downright vulgar. It is refreshing to see a show where they don't have to constantly resort to bathroom humor or horrible puns in a weak attempt to engage the audience They can do so with relatable characters and well defined story arcs that actually give some emotional satisfaction.

As for why I favorite a lot of pony related art, would you believe that it is because I enjoy the artwork and actually find it pleasing to the eye? What would you have me do, simply ingratiate myself with a bunch of meaningless squiggles and lines on a canvas and try to find some deeper meaning, or simply favorite art that I find enjoyable to look at AND that is relevant to my interests? Also, you keep going on about "adult make interests" as if it were a standard. Have you ever taken into account that what you enjoy might not be what other people enjoy? I am an avid video gamer, and I have seen enough blood and viscera flying across a screen to fill the Dead Sea. Does this make me a man? Would it be any different if I were a woman who enjoyed this show? You cannot generalize what you enjoy as the standard for what all men need to enjoy if they want to be considered a "man".

I read a story once of a US Marine who enjoys watching MLP with his younger sister. While he was on his tour of duty in Afghanistan, his sister sent him a small Fluttershy toy to help remind him if his family back home, and he always wore it on his combat fatigues. One day, on a routine patrol, a terrorist sniper took a shot at him. The only reason he survived with only a couple of bruised ribs was because of the toy he had strapped to his vest that deflected the bullet. He was awarded a purple heart and was given permission to go back to the states while he healed.

Now tell me, is this soldier any less of a man because of his enjoyment of a show that has brought him closer to his sister? Would he be more of a man if he had refused to wear the toy that eventually saved his life? Before you try to generalize on what constitutes manhood, you need to try and have a more open mind about what masculinity means. If anything, it would take much more masculinity, and a greater security therein, to admit to enjoying this show based off of its own merits as entertainment then to try and force through your own idea of what is "right" and constitutes an "adult make interest" to people who may not enjoy what you enjoy.

Playcircus In reply to portaljumper339 [2012-08-07 19:47:01 +0000 UTC]

I want to address these last two paragraphs first. I just can't believe what I'm reading. Is this the marine story you're referring to?:

[link]

It blows my mind that you would not only use this in defense for watching the show, but you actually think this is a true story. For God's sake, it's meme comic. What's even more jarring is the amount of sincere responses it got from pony fans that admit to being touched by it. I'm at a loss for words. All I can say is, I now feel that all my distaste for MLP fans has been absolutely vindicated. Unbelievable.

Secondly, you should not be learning life lessons from a show produced by Hasbro. These are not even relevant lessons. If you haven't learned how to share by now, then maybe you should go back to first grade. If you really believe you're learning something from this show, then maybe that explains why you're tearing up over a made up meme comic. Also, the story arcs are copy/pasted from countless other shows that have used the exact same plots a thousand times. They're well defined because every other show has already done the same exact episodes already. How many times can a person watch an episode where one character has to decide which of their friends to give a ticket to while they both compete for the character's friendship?

Look at my favorites. That's what an adult man's favorites should look like. I don't fave something because it's cute, just like you won't find cute art hanging in an art museum. You see Van Goh and Da Vinci. You should like art because it actually means something, not because you like the big eyes and pretty hair. Smart people like refined art, dumb people like mindless cute art. That's a fact.
