This is Chief, a G1 pony.

In my version, he is an old fire-fighter turned army commander.

Chief was born and bred to be a fire-fighter, but as threats came upon the kingdom of Pferdoenia, he volunteered to join the royal army. He was soon placed on castle guard duty, where he met the young Princess Taffeta, a beautiful unicorn in his eyes. They fell in love and had a daughter together. When the kingdom was attacked, Chief fled to protect the surviving foals, heeding Taffeta's pleas.
