Description
I turned and handed youwhat I was expected to hand you
It meant nothing
no, nothing at all
I was simply doing as I was told
You accepted
as you were expected
In my eyes, I knew
there was a hidden plea
A plea for something
Anything.
Through my fingers
a spark
a wandering connection
that ran through the expected thing
begging for them to be accepted
by the fingers on the other side
In clear-shot denial
you didn't even so much as spare
one brief glance in my direction
Not one ounce of affirmation
bestowed upon my plea
Not one iota of deep and mysterious blue
to call my own.
The spark met with a rubber stopper
dead in its tracks
A connection cut short
by a too harsh reality
From your lips
no sound was uttered
From your toungue
no words were formed
From your mouth
only silence
And that's all I needed to hear.
