She didn't understand it, why people were so scared to offer their help for this. It wasn't hard, just facing your fears. She had done it in Babylon, where she had faced Sol laying on the ground bleeding out with the blood on her paws. She saw them at night, when she was asleep, some throwing her out of her sleep heart racing. Those nights she just worked, she could never sleep well after one of those. Though they weren't as often anymore, but when they did they weren't any better.
Walking towards the crafters and espions that would be watching she waved to them, sitting down and nodded her head to show she was ready. The descent wasn't easy on her.

Everything in her vision turned grey again, she couldn't see her flames and her throat itched. She tired coughing to clear it, but she saw petals fall from her mouth, gold under her paws. The fear crawled over her in panic, paws reaching for her throat. The sudden urge to tear it open, she wanted it out, gold be damned. She'd burn it out again if she had to.

It shifted once more, she saw the faces of those she was close to and those she respected. Sol was yelling at her, how she was just a liability. It stung, she had fought for so long to make sure she wasn't. She fought so hard, but he was right, wasn't he? The trip from the dark spire was blur, had she been on the edge? She didn't feel the same since she came back after all. There was Skinner, saying how she was a waste of effort, she'd only let her down. She wouldn't ever become a full espion after her failure. It made her feel sick and ashamed. She wanted to scream when Tiger started to laugh at her, she didn't actually want to be her friend, she just pitied her. Dusk was hopeless, she wouldn't find any true friends, she didn't even understand how to talk to people normally. Slowly she curled in on herself until she saw Shadow turned away from her. Saying how she wasn't his twin. Just an imposter, his sister died, she was just a husk. She could feel the tears fall. She wanted to scream at him, apologize, say it wasn't her fault. But wasn't it? She was the one who had lost hope, who had turned ashen. Her auma wasn't even light, it was dark. She didn't even know what she did during that time, all she knew was she had been a monster then, and she still looked like one. Why people stared at her, lashed out and yelled, or just ran away from her without ever talking to her.

Everything faded though, she felt the wave of reality fall and before her stood herself. Laughing like a hellion, blood on the ground. Her double's flames wildly burning, the world seemed so dark and distorted. Yet she felt nothing, it was like she was floating, yet chained to something. She laughed before laying on the ground and curling in a ball, claws digging into her flesh bringing pricks of blood, the vision fading swiftly.

She her commotion but she didn't feel in her body still. Everything sounded far away, though the pain was bringing things in quickly, too quickly. Pulling her paws away from her body she turned to the others an smiled, excusing herself and running away from the others. She just needed to be alone, maybe go for a swim. Swimming was nice, being alone was good. She was better alone anyway, less of a risk.

This piece took me longer then I thought it would x-x But I'm super happy with how it came out so that's nice at least. Anyway Dusk offers her help thinking it be easy since she sees them in her nightmares. But, well, maybe she wasn't ready to face them all head on yet. And while she tires to play like she's fine and over some, she really isn't. Girl is still soft, but tries to act brave. This might have been a long needed reality check for her though. She needs some help and reassurance.
