Description
Been struggling for awhile making sketch after sketch, piece after piece, to fit the struggle of a pirate fighting the curse they've been afflicted with and I'm so happy to finally be satisfied after all this time with this drawing. This started off as a very broad concept that I later started make a small story for. I'm still figuring out a LOT of the details but I'm having so much fun just having her exist at all.

For a bit of story context: This is Scarlet and she is a pirate that ran with a crew, who after following a treasure map that they procured from a bit of a sketchy person, found a small strange looking chest. After bringing it back to the ship their captain started going mad trying to get it open. Scarlet fearing for her captain's sanity grabbed the chest and threw it overboard hoping to cure his insanity -- Only to get shot in the process. When her limb body fell into the ocean with the chest, her blood began to get absorbed by the chest and it opened letting out a cyan/blue light that turned into a giant ghostly kraken. It tells her that she is now it's new puppet since it was her blood that freed him, and the light then flows into her body and glowing tentacle tattoos spread around her body, her eyes start glowing, the ocean starts to swirl around her, and that's the last thing Scarlet remembers before simply waking up on a beach.
