This is too freaking amazing for words. Is this even legal? Like seriously. The emotion in this is overwhelming. I would do anything to go give him a hug.

I have 2 questions for you... Which part was the most fun, and which gave you more of a challenge? I like his hairs ( the ones on his arm and head )!

My first thought was: what a great photo.... Then I realized - nope, that is not a photo.
But wether photorealistic painting or photo: it is so powerful and expressive. Great work!

The textures! I thought this was a photograph! The texture on his skin, the way it's being pulled, pushed, the hair...everything.
Amazing work! I need to go put my mind back together because you just blew it up.

No way! I really had to do a triple take to tell if it was a photo or not. Phenomenal quality work. The details are extremely impressive. Overall gorgeous piece!

be careful about establishing the "best" in art, there is always something better. Like this:

I'm blown away. Especially since this is oils, typically you'd only see that kind of realism/sharpness from a digital work. The modeling is spot on and the way you even tackled the minute hairs on his head and arms is truly breathtaking. A marvelous work worthy of the old masters

The arm is much to huge, is that on purpose?

DaneRavienus In reply to DancingInTwilight [2013-01-05 03:52:10 +0000 UTC]
Actually the arm doesn't seem all that bad. Don't forget here, it looks like his bicep is resting on his knee which would push it up making it show in the picture. Probably makes his arm look much thicker than it actually is.

with the exception of a few points on the painting as a whole, the work likes like a high saturation HD photo with perhaps a bit of photoshop.

thats an amazing amount of detail and work.. interesting concept too.. on the other hand i wish the consistency of style was evident throughout the whole figure. As of now the realism of his head does not match with the more graphic rendering of the rest of his body and it is getting in the way of me enjoying this piece even more
