I have to say I LOVE your work! Medusa is one of my favorites. I love the story behind her and I've always pitied her and found her beautiful. So I can't wait to see your painting when it's finished! Best of luck

Interesting take on Medusa. It's like she's keeping her snakes under wrap.

Wow. It looks phenomenal in acrylics. I can't believe you go over it in oils! I'd call it quits when I got it right with one medium! It's amazing you paint a painting twice.

Wow, even though it is not finished yet it looks wonderful. I especially like those nice round curves of her scarf ! And her face looks almost like Eva Green. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Yes please, paint away! Honestly I just love how BIG it is, and your concepts are always so intriguing. I've been wanting to do something bigger as well (except for me it would only be about a quarter that size lol) so seeing the updates of you painting these is simply fascinating. If it's not clear at this point, I'd like to say you're a big inspiration to me =]
I greatly look forward to your next update!

I don't paint over acrylic (other than primer, which I don't even do that anymore), although I have seen it becoming ever more common. Does the surface loose tooth as you layer on the acrylic underpainting?
Also, the contour sketch looks like graphite... I had trouble with graphite sketches bleeding through the oil paint (causing me to abandon the presketch entirely), is this problem resolved by the Acrylic underpainting?
The translucent scarf/veil looks great by the way. I especially like the optical effect of the fabric just below the left eye (stage left, I mean).

Nice i like streaks like that where I need to create.
This is a great twist on Medusa instead of purely villainous almost have sympathy for for her 'affliction
Beautiful as always

i really really love your art... it looks so smooth and realistic!
Have you ever seen "gottfried helnwein's" works?
what do you think of his skill and the fact that he uses children (mostly covered in blood) for his huge hyperrealistic oil paintings?
Greetings
