I have no idea if this will be helpful for anyone, but this is how I draw my roses!It just really depends on what I am doing, but these are the two different ways I paint them!
Pink Rose
Step 1: draw a random shape, fill it in.
Step 2: using the airbrush pick a lighter color than step 1 and dust the center.
Step 3: Using a darker pink that step 1 create a swirl in the center.
Step 4: Create the petals
Step 5: Keep going
Step 6: Go all the way around the rose
Step 7: Round off the petals that look awkward or cut off.
Step 8: Add some highlights and a leaf if need be, DONE!
Red Rose:
Step 1: Draw a swirl
Step 2: Begin drawing petals
Step 3: Go as big or as small as you would like
Step 4: underneath your lineart layer create another layer and put it to "multiply" use a bit lighter red than step 1
Step 5: Using a darker red than step 1 & 4 create some shadows
Step 6: Using a lighter red than 1 & 4 add some highlights
Step 7 (optional) you can add some white dots for dew or sparkles
Step 8: Add a leaf if you would like, DONE!
