This is funny. I guess one way to go about it is to use the tree of life. If one is good with dogs, they can start there. Then they can practice drawing other canines. They are like dogs, but slightly different. A wolf is like a husky, except that it has grayer fur and a straighter tail. It also tends to be more robust and large. A fox is like a dog, but with pointy snout and bushy tail. It tends to be smaller and sleeker than the basic dog. The most famous species is a red fox. It is characterized by having red fur, a white tail tip, and back legs and ear tips. Once one is skilled with drawing various canines, they can move to the next closest related things. This is the Carnivora order. So they can practice drawing bears, seals, raccoons, skunks weasels, cats, hyenas and mongooses. Most of the animals listed here come from the order. They are the top two rows plus bear, weasel and raccoon. One can progress further away from the dog relatives. Next they can do other mammals. Then they can do reptiles and birds. Then they can do amphibians and fish. Finally they may even do very different animals, like worms, bugs, snails and jellyfish.
