I was all alone for Christmas so I bought myself a fox plushie to keep me company. Here he is, having to wrap up warm in the snow.

This has all been quite interesting for me. I grew up in South Africa and the average low in the coldest month where I grew up was seven degrees (daily mean was 11,9 degrees for that month) so basically I have no experience with snow. I'd seen it a couple of times but that was after a two hour drive up into some distant mountains. At the moment I'm in Munich where the December average high is 3,7 degrees! The average low is below freezing. I got to see it snowing for the first time but it's really cold and I've now seen more snow in the last few days than all the rest of my life put together. If more perspective is needed the record low for my city in South Africa is -1,3 degrees. That's still higher than the average low for three months of the year in Munich.
