Anthem of RakdosAcrylic, approx 7.5" x 11"

As the organists' music builds to a frenzy so too does the bloodletting in the mosh pit.
As the image was fairly cluttered with quite a lot of detail, and a number of figures, I decided on a fairly simple colour scheme. The mustard yellow helped pick out the ranks of figures and general details, whilst also contrasting with the strong red which helps draw the eye in.
This was a fun image to work on with elements reminiscent of a contemporary heavy metal concert.

Really, really like this one. No plans to be a swords and sorcery artist myself, it's not the style I want to pursue. But I love to look at the work of Frazetta and some of the top artists for WoW, etc., so I know how unbelievably high the standards can be in that industry. And I think it's no exaggeration or b.s. to say you really gave the all-time best/greatest in the field a run for their money with this one.

I mean this is incredible! And if i had 250 spare pounds you know i would buy it or something like it! I love your use of imagination, The way you place everything in your compositions is perfect. You have a flawless timeless style. May many memories be like sweet and exciting treasures throughout the work you do for Wizards of the Coast. I truly salute you and your team @ Wizards.

Ahahaha. On the card, I never noticed the hand of the Rakdos guild member in the front making the "rock out" sign. I had to look at the art on my computer screen to notice that.
It's a shame the card didn't see much play with such kickass art. I won a Limited game with it if it's any consolation though (if that makes sense).

It is often the case that a card's mechanics mean it never gets played much, but glad you had some success with it

I'm a die-hard Rakdos fan (not literally), but my best deck is Gruul, I must admit, though Rakdos gets me out of some pretty tough jams most of the time...

I am dissappointed that people say that that is the worst guild, though... I am not a careful player, and I piss off a lot of people when I make them discard cards...

There isn't a guild in Ravnica that knows how to party harder then Rakdos, although the other guilds tend to live after their celebrations

Although, the organist up there reminds me a bit of the contemportary trance-concert(which really doesn't fit together with the metal-like moshpit)so it creates a nice contrast
And it's always good to know that there are still peolple in this world who enjoy their work

I didn't like this piece until I saw this larger version and could actually appreciate the details. After a few seconds: "OMG! It's a rock concert!"
