The thing is, if you look at the rampant incest among the Egyptians and all the HEALTH problems it brought about, incest actually is a problem to be worried about. I'm not approaching this from a moral standpoint, I'm approaching it from a biological standpoint. It happens even with inbreeding in dogs/cats to get "pure bred" breeds that are usually plagued with health issues and early deaths. Incest causes birth defects, and the closer you are in relation, the more DNA you share which means the % that the child born of the inbreeding will have something horribly wrong with it's health or even it's mind is higher.Β
Yeah, it's a minor problem to see people supporting it, true. There are worse things to try and deal with first, but incest and incest support should still be on the list of "things to worry about". I usually just assume the people who support it are uneducated about the biological complications and why DNA needs to be mixed and come from different sources. But this means that there's another problem on the list of things to worry about; not being properly educated before supporting a cause (or not being educated at all on a subject that an impact on actual human developement).
I wonder if biology classes even teach this sort of thing these days... Probably not. *shrug*

It is true that breeding with in the same gene pool will cause medical
issues in the offspring, although other things do this as well such as alcohol,
drugs and some other contributors that people use with in their life time, as
well as natural illness, and other hereditary issues humans and other life forms
can pass on in the next generations.
If we're going to worry about people who wish to breed or even have sexual or
martial relationships with someone with in their own gene pool for a biological stand point,
Then you should also be focusing on mental disorders, illness, STDs, HIVs, hereditary diseases
and other traits based on from basic human breeding.Β
If people support the idea od not being together or breeding for a biological standpoint, thenΒ
most of the human race should not breed. This also means you are against interracial breeding
which can and has been known to cause issues Β as well as breeding outside your own blood types.
Incest for sexual experimentation is safe, knowing who you are having sex with, i'd rather two
consenting brother and sister, ect try things out, then going home with some stranger someone has never known.
Incest for reproductive purposes is not always going to bring about the best results, but so can other things.
Simply drinking to much coffee while pregnant can cause issues in the end of the term same thing
with taking drugs as simple as tylonal to much. Bad diets and so much more effect birth defects, far more
defects come from other things than incest breeding.
I don't support incest, but i'm not against it either. If people are going to parade around and pretend it's a crime against humanity to do it,
then there's an issues.Β
