You see, when deformities happen because of the matter of incest, it's usually because of the two recessive genes being put together... When two recessive genes are put together, then that formerly recessive gene is now the dominate gene. Most recessive genes are what are responsible for the passing down of hereditary diseases [That usually skip a generation...]
... And in order for two recessive genes to be put together, the parents would have to be brother and sister.
... Now, the chance is much, much, much lower if the parents were cousins, since their genes are similar, but not exactly the same... [Well, even in a brother-sister relationship, their genes aren't EXACTLY identical, but very, very similar...]
