Um...well...I sort of skip what your step #3 is almost all the time, I just think of the hairline...sorta doesn't look right sometimes, but I can never seem to get the hairline just right. XD
Yeah...But this'll help me fix that problem AND my hair shading skills. I don't publish some dolls...bud you should know why...(*cough**Cough* hairline problem/shading-clothes problem/shading problem *cough* *cough*)

I just choose a random color for my base color, and then just go from there. a few lighter tomes, a few darker tones.
