Without meaning to sound rude, I have a question. Under the copyright infringement/protection law, it is illegal to reproduce a copyrighted character for profit, without the permission of the copyright holder.
So my question is, how are you selling this shirt, which Gibli's works are now owned by Disney, legally?
Does this website have some sort of agreement with Disney and other corporations. I ask because I see people selling copyrighted characters on this site as shirts all the time.
Once again, I am not meaning to sound impolite. I am currently studying law and am curious how you are doing it.

That may be true, but if these corporations catch wind of this, that person can and will be held accountable for loss of revenue.
I see your point. However, people should be more careful, as with that mindset, what's to stop someone from taking your works and making millions off of it.
Read up on Chad Love Lieberman. He made millions stealing art from artists on this site, and then selling them as his own.

That is true.
I was just curious how that tee shirt site worked. Another person did respond, and said that it has a trade agreement giving a percentage of royalties to the original creator. So, they can on that site.
But even with that, I am sure there are stipulations to how far you can go.

As someone who makes shirts like these, I think the reason that we don't get sued for copyright or anything like that is because the sites do a have some sort of permission to have artists make these designs and they can sell them. Thing is, the artist usually only gets like 20% of the profit. The other 80%, I'm sure, goes to sponsor companies, website maintenance, salaries and other things like that. But I could be wrong.
Although, I myself have never gotten in trouble for it and neither have a lot of other people.

I haven't looked into it yet, but I think that that particular website, may have a trade agreement with said organizations. But it also stands to reason that you may get caught someday, and should exercise caution.

Well yeah, I mean, obviously don't claim characters as yours and don't make your designs look like a character to the very tee.
I submit onto Redbubble and Society6, which are bigger than teeturtle, so that's what I'm basing it off of.

Good to know. I started versing myself on the copyright laws after the Chad Love Lieberman incident.
As someone who is often approached for cannon character tee shirts, I was curious to know how one could do that legally. The laws are pretty concrete unless you have permission.
Another person responded as well, as said that many people know and don't care that its illegal. I told them to read about Lieberman, as you will eventually get called, as its a bad mindset to have.
