Why?Why do you do this to me?
Why do you come here with your
sad eyes and your
tears and your
"I miss you"?
Why do you call me with your
"I'll wait" and your
"I just need a placeholder till you come back"?
Why do you text me with your
"I regret it" and your
"I never meant to hurt you"?
Why do you message me with your
"I haven't moved on from you" and your
"Let me know when you're ready"?
Why do you do that, when you know I don't believe that you mean it? Why do you give me words, when you know what I needed to see from you was action?
Why do your actions not match your words, if you so desperately want me to come back to you? Why do you continue to do exactly what makes me think you're stringing me along, if you want to prove to me that you aren't?
Why won't you just leave me alone, if you don't really mean it? Why won't you just let me go, when you know I'm done giving you chances?
You had so many chances. You blew them all. You kept me waiting and made me miserable in the process. Then you did something that forced me to make a judgement call, and now we both have to deal with the fall-out.
And no, I don't forgive you, and
no, I don't trust you, and
yes, I think your motives are suspect, and
yes, I believe you'd do whatever you could to have your cake and eat it too,
because you've done it before.
And no, I don't believe you are who you say you are, and
no, I don't believe you love me like you always claimed to, and
no, I don't believe you really want to devote yourself to the family you said you wanted,
because you threw every chance I gave you back in my face, and
you threw us away like yesterday's trash, and
now that we're gone,
now that we're not there,
now that we're finally settling in without you,
NOW you want us back?
There's a saying.
"You don't know what you've got till it's gone."
