The muffled moans coming from within the ebony cocoon had finally gone silent. The scientists clustered behind the long row of various computer equipment and monitors froze in place, their eyes focused on the black orb... waiting for whatever it was that was coming next to happen. The smooth, shiny egg suddenly began to rapidly swell and shrink like a lung that had long been denied air until finally- *POP*! The perfectly smooth black exterior of the cocoon broke, sending a mighty burst of light orange goop spraying across the sterile walls and equipment. A dark black hand reached through the rupture, pulling the vertical incision further apart. The scientists watched with awestruck fascination as the faceless ebony humanoid figure emerged from the goop and ominous glow of the cocoon's interior. Unbeknownst to anyone in the room, it was that very moment... that stumbling first step of Dr. Crawford's rebirth... that would forever change the course of human history...
