Description
As she felt the bristled, slightly damp blades of grass beneath her fingers, she breathed. She breathed as she stared to the stars, deciphering constellations and painting pictures with the deep shades of blue and black. She breathed as her worries left her in bouts of warm air. Being lost in her own imagination led to all of her muscles gradually relaxing as the grass soothed her and as the ground began to swallow her. A smile played on her lips as she gradually succumbed to the sensation. Slowly, she became numb as the earth beneath welcomed her, taking her warmth for its own and making her body one with the grass. One by one, her fingers, then toes, then limbs lost all feeling. Finally, she was so cold and numb, that she couldn't move, yet, it was liberating. The absence of fear and stress and worry left just a shell, with a small, glistening orb of happiness planted deep within its heart. It grew to fill her entire body until she felt she would drown in it. Still staring at the stars, she whispered to them, willing them closer. Suddenly, she felt like she was floating, like she could fly. Then, the realisation struck. She was free.
