Acylic paint on a 24"x30" pre-stretched canvas

This is my first work I'm posting on deviantART that's not done using pencil.

I painted it for my grandfather, who recently had one of his kidneys removed. He's doing well, but I thought that maybe a personalized gift would be a much nicer sentiment than a store bought gift, especially considering that my grandfather enjoys painting. You might recognize that the hair resembles a character named "Noble Scarlet" from the anime "Ah! My Goddess!". This is because I originally intended to paint fanart of Noble Scarlet, but it evolved into this somehow during the week or so I spent painting it. The hair pretty much is the only similarity and it's actually the wrong color besides, so I figured it was different enough that it didn't resemble Noble Scarlet all that much anymore. (Noble Scarlet is also much younger.) I may opt to change the hair some time over the weekend, in which case I'll post the higher quality picture from the digital camera as a totally new deviation.
