The sky is cloudy with a chance of rain
yet the sun tries to peek through.
Little do the animals know
A thunderstorm is ready to brew.
Humans try to change the forecast
Saying it will be nice today
But the clouds have been holding the water too long; it is time for Earth to pay.
Wind howls and cuts down the trees
Lightning strikes down from above
Fire spreads throughout the fields
All the water results in a flood.
Thunder echoes across mountaintops
People run and hide
No one can stop the weather, or the pain Earth feels inside.
Seems the storm will never stop
But at the last drop of rain, a rainbow appears!
A happy ending- at least until the storm comes again .
